This work in three volumes analyses the developmental action in South Asia from different angles. First volume deals with the progress and challenges of social development, problems of trafficking, child labour and Communalism, etc, are seen as major hinderance in the way of development. Second volume deals with economic development of South Asian countries. Volume number three looks at the development from political point of view. The book analyses the implications and benefits of US-South Asian relations, corruption in the region, and anti-corruption drives, besides considering the influence of IT revolution on politics of the region. Dr. S.R. Bakshi is an eminent scholar of History and is the author of several works on Indian nationalism and freedom movement. A renowned scholar of history, Dr. Bakshi was working with ICHR, New Delhi till recently.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR T.R. Sareen
Dr. T.R. Sareen retired as Director, Indian Council of Historical Research, was formerly Assitant Direcetor National Archives of India, was a Records Management Consultant with the Government of Kenya. Having traveled widely in India and abroad, Dr. Sareen has many published works to his credit, apart from a number of articles on Indian history and culture. His publications include. Indian Revolutionary and the Indian National Movement, Subhas Chandra Bose and Nazi Germany, Singapore Mutiny, Occupation of Andamans, 1942-45, and British Intervention in Transcaspian 1917-19. At present, he is working on the Project, Japanese Prisoners of War in India, 1942-46.
