Dress designing has of late acquired a new attraction and people are changing lifestyle by wearing newly styled dresses. It is therefore, natural that children in schools and colleges should be acquainted with the subject of textiles and dress designing.

Mamta Agarwal did her M.Sc. in Home Science from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi. Later she visited some American Universities and taught in Columbia University as guest lecturer. She did her Ph.D. in Home Science from Pune University, Pune. She is now the Head of the Department in Home Science in Rajasthan college for Women. She has written many books in Home Science. She regularly writes in national newspapers and journals.
