This is a study on searching for voices of those who are usually identified as silent masses in social movements. They are identified as participants here. Participation of women in social movements is seen in terms of their day-to-day activities-what they did during different phases of the Bodo movement. It further concentrates on the process of organising women within the Bodo movement. This study has portrayed the Bodo women as leaders and effective organisers at the grassroots level. It has tried to reflect concerns of women to reorganise the existing socio-economic situation of their own community and their sincere efforts to maintain peace.
