Biodiversity is rightly considered as an index of sound health of habitat and strong base for better evolution. It entails all forms of biological entities inhabiting the earth–including prokaryotes and euckaryotes. Man has always been fascinated by the biological diversity and has exploited it enormously for his own needs. In this venture, he has not only destroyed the natural biodiversity but has also enhanced the chances of health and environmental problems. To create awareness an attempt has been made to discuss various aspects of biodiversity at one platform. The present festschrift volume contains 40 reviews/research papers that will provide a new sight in basic and applied researches related to plant and microbial diversity. It mainly includes fungal diversity, biological pest management, bio-inoculation, stress resistance, aerobiology, plant disease, and microbial application in industries etc. The papers are invited ones and the authors bear the responsibility for their interpretation, literature citation and scientific names. Dr. Ashok kumar Pandey (b. 19400, Basically a keen student of literature having a brilliant academic career with first class first position both at B.A. , Hons, & M.A. levels and securing gold medals, is in I.A.S. officer of 1965 batch. Dr. Pandey was sponsored during his tenure with the Ministry of Defence for a post graduate course to the University of Manchester . U.K. where hhe completed his course with distinetin and was awarded Post Graduate degree in Development Administration (1975). The administrative skill and prudence of Dr. Pandey are reflected also in the fact thathe served with different central Minister, Viz. inister of Energy, Minister of tourism, Civil Avistion & Labour, Minister of Tourism , civil Aviation & Labour, Minister of State for Defence and Minister for commerce as Special assistant very successfully and competently. Dr. Pandey is presently heading the personnel, industrial relations & training divisions in the Food corporation of India, New Delhi. A widely travelled person, Dr. Pandey has visited U.S.A., U.K. F.R.O., Fioland. Neitherlands, switizerland, Austria, Helgium, Iran, Ethiopia , etc. In various capacities and mainly as a member of several detergations while working in the Ministry of commerce. A member of different academic organizations, Dr Pandey is a very keen student of development administration and has contributed to the area of knowledge by wy of imparting training and writing scholarly papers.
