The financial position of majority of the State Road Transport Corporations is very precarious. ABOUT THE AUTHOR J. Madegowda
J. Madegowda, Professor Commerce and Dean of Faculty of Commerce, had his early education in different institutions in Mandya district. He obtained his M.Com in 1980 from the University of Mysore with first class and first Rank, and received two Gold Medals for securing highest marks in M.Com and also in the specialization group of Advanced Cost Accounting. He joined the Department of Commerce in 1980, a year after the Department was started in 1979 in Davangere, Later, working as a teacher, he worked for his Doctoral Degree and obtained the same in 1989 from the University of Mysore. Dr. Gowda has published seven Books and more than 50 Research Papers in the Journals of repute University of Mysore awarded the “Golden Jubilee Award†for his first book “Financial and Accountingâ€. The Reviewers of his second book “Marginal costing†in their reviews have commended this book as a pioneering work. He has also presented a large number of papers at both national and international level conferences, seminars, etc. The International Association of Educators for World Peace has conferred “2004 Lifetime Achievement AWARD†at the International Trade Summit held in New Delhi. Besides, he has organized a number of Seminars, Workshops, Refresher Courses, etc including two national level seminars.
