This book presents in a formal way the study of the development of Kashmiri Grammatical Systems. Though the first attempt to trace the origin of Kashmiri language was made by Sir. G.A. Grierson who callsified Kashmiri and other north†western languages in terms of Dardic., But these assertions of Grierson have always been challenged by the scholars. The present study shows that Kashmiri contains absolutely not peculiarities which can not be derived from old Indo-Aryan through Middle Indo-Aryan. The data of the present study is based on the written materials available hi Kashmiri right from Mahanaya. Praka:s of Sitikanth to modern Kashmiri writers. Structural methods are applied to express the changes which Kashmiri has undergone in its phonological and morphological systems. The importance of this study in terms of contribution is to facilitate the understanding of the sources of the development of Kashmiri Grammatical systems.
