This book deals with the life and the great Indian Educationists like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Swami Vivekanand, Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Radhakrishnan etc. Instead of Making a lengthy life sketch, very specific anecdotes from the lives of these, very specific anecdotes from the lives of the lives of these great men have been given and the book emphasizes on what these great Educationists stood for. All these great heroes stood for the unity and integrity ahead and to free the motherland from the shackles of the British rule. They all appreciated the western culture but never imitated it but tried to apply the good points from the west in our country. All these stalwarts worked to educate the people of India especially the women, as they were of the opinion that a nation can move ahead only when both its men and women are educated. One common thing among all of them was that they all strove hard to bring educational reforms in the country. They all toiled to bring good education and to give proper training to the Indian people. The aim for writing the book is to make the young generation of today aware of the ideals and objectives of these great men and how they stood for their ideals. This book will prove to be very useful especially for the B.Ed. Students as it will help them to understand the aims of our present educational system. These aims have their roots in the philosophy, ideals, reforms and views of these great educationists.
