ABOUT THE AUTHOR P. Swain
Dr. Priyabrat Swain, born on 18th September, 1965 is a Senior Scientist in Aquatic Animal Health Division, Central Institute of Fershwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, India. His major research contributions are development of a monoclonal antibody based diagnostic kit for Newcastle disease of poultry and polyclonal antibody based diagnostic kits for bacterial diseases of fish. He has handled many research projects and filed two patents with the Indian authority. He has more than 40 research papers in various reputed international and national journals to his credit. He has received several awards and honours including prestigious Best Team Leader Award for Outstanding Team Research for the Biennium: 2001-02 and Lal Bahadur Shastri Young Scientist award for the biennium: 1997-98 by Indian Council for Agricultural Research (ICAR); BOYSCAST fellowship award by DST, Govt. of India; Best Young Scientist award of CIFA, Bhubaneswar; Dr. J.N. Prusty memorial gold medal of OUAT, Bhubaneswar and a special award by Directorate of Extension, Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India, New Delhi.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR P.K. Sahoo
Dr. Pramoda Kumar Sahoo, born on 4th May, 1965 is a Senior Scientist in the Aquatic Animal Health Division, Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, India. His research contributions on the innate immunity and immunomodulation in Indian major carps. He has more than 40 research papers in various international and national journals to his credit. He has been bestowed with many awards viz., Department of Biotechnology Overseas Fellowship Award, Jawaharlal Nehru Award by ICAR for the Year 2001; Young Scientist Award, 2001 by Prof. Hiralal Chaudhuri Fisheries Foundation, Mumbai; Young Scientist Award of Asian Fisheries Society, Indian Branch 1999; Best Young Scientist of CIFA for the year 1999 and SERC visiting Fellow of DST, New Delhi.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Ayyappan
Dr. Subbanna Ayyappan, born on 10th December, 1955 is presently the Deputy Director General (Fisheries) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. After receiving his B.F.Sc., M.F. Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from College of Fisheries, Mangalore, India, he joined Agricultural Research Service in 1978. He has served ICAR in different capacities including Director, CIFA and Director, CIFE-Deemed University. He has guided many Masters and Doctoral students. He has served several national and international committees and is a member of the Board of Trustees for the World Fish Centre, Malaysia and Network of Aquaculture Centre of Asia and Pacific (NACA), Bangkok, Thailand. He has over 100 research publications to his credit and filed one patent application with the Indian authority.
