South Asia though harbouring a huge population and abundant natural resources is still considered as undeveloped/underdeveloped. On political front, it is much sensitive attracting piercing eyes of world powers. The present work is compiled to analyse India’s foreign policy in the context of south Asia. As such the present endeavour attempts at portraying some crucial issues concerned with the diplomatic relations of Indian with some south Asian countries. Seven articles are compiled here to portray the real scene, namely, India and Bangladehs; Indo-Bangladesh Relations in Mujib Era; Growth of Hostile Relations; Farakka Barrage Dispute; India and Sri Lanka Tamil Liberation Movement; India and Afghanistan; and India and Bhutan. Hopefully, the information gathered herein will prove useful to all those interested in the study.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Kumar
Dr. S. Kumar (born on July 25th, 1954) is working as a Senior Scientist in Botanical Survey of India Dehradun. He has been actively engaged in research in plant taxonomy, floristics and biodiversity conservation. He has contributed ca 100 research papers and popular scientific articles in reputed national and international journals and magazines in English and Hindi. He has botanically explored many regions in Jammy & Kashmir, Sikkim and Haryana and has contributed significantly in Flora of Jammu & Kashmir, Flora of Sikkim and Flora of Haryana. He is co-author of the book on "Flora Indicae Enumeratio: Asteraceae" and contributed in Books on Flora of India Vol. 1 (Berberidaceae) Vol. 13 (Asteraceae) and Vol 22 (Fagaceae) and Flora of Sikkim Vol. 1 He has recently published the books on FFlora of Haryana (Materials), Plant Diversity Along River Ganga and Zingiberaceae of Sikkim. His forthcoming publications include Grasses of Sikkim. Dr. Kumar is a Fellow and Life member of several reputed scientific societies and has chaired sessions in various conferences and symposia.
