ABOUT THE AUTHOR Babita Bohra

Babita Bohra obtained her B.Sc. degree from the Kumaun University in first division and M.Sc. Ag. Degree in dairy Husbandry from the GB pant University of Agriculture & technology (GBPUAT), Patnagar, Uttarachal, India in the first division having got through national competitive examination, she was admitted to the coveted Ph.D. degree Programme with major in Dairy Husbandary and minor in Animal Nutrition of the GBPUAT. She carried out a prestigious project on Milk Production, marketing and Consumption Scenarios at the Peri-urban Dairy Farms in the Champawat District of Uttaranchal. She is currently working as a Senior Research Fellow with the Project on development of Strategies to Improve Nutrition of dairy Animals in the Mountains of Uttaranchal which has been sponsored by the GB Pant Institute of Himalayan Environment and development. Babita has specialized in dairy husbandry and livestock-dependent livelihood systems in mountain areas. She has written a number of book chapters, research and popular articles to her credit and has recently been invited to work as a lead author buy the International Assessment of Agricultural Science and technology for Development (IAASTD) to write a chapter on agriculture-related issues focusing on East and South Asia and the Pacific (ESAP) Region.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vir Singh

Dr. Vir Singh is a Professor of Environmental Science at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Animal Nutrition (Himalayan Range-land Management). He has three decades' experience of teaching, research, extension, guiding students, and environmental activism. He has extensively travelled European and Asian countries. He has published 20 book and 200 articles.
