It still commands respect and attracts readers despite severe competition from glamorous electronic media. With increasing rural literacy, the scope of using written words has widened in the country. The Communication centres and Farm Information Units are regularly publishing leaflets, bulletins, pamphlets, folders, posters and magazines in farm problems and their solutions. Writing for farmers has become a common activity in these days.
