ABOUT THE AUTHOR B.L. Kapoor
Dr. B.L. Kapoor is a well known personality devoted to highlight the cultural heritage of the Western Himalayas. His books 'Cultural History of Western Himalayas with special preference to old kingdom of Mandi' has brought him laurels from scholars and lay readers. His opus magnum 'Gods of the High Hills' is a pioneer work acclaimed to be the first of its kind in any civilized languages of the world. his maiden book on History and Traditions of Himachal has been a trendsetter work in Hindi followed later on by several books. Dr. Kapoor has a book of essay under the caption 'Grow More Good' which encompasses the best which readers must read. He has authored two travelogues and two anthologies of essays in Hindi in addition to hundred of articles which have been appearing in national and regional print media. A little booklet on the disease of eyes and their cures reflect his love for his practicing specialty for which he had qualified about four and half decades back. basically a medical person, he has brilliant academic carrier possessing qualifications like MBBS, MAMS, DOMS, DL and O and FRESH from a number of universities, academies and medical school abroad. After retiring as Chief Medical Officer, he is devoting his time for intellectual pursuits as well as upholding the glories of medical science in general and Ophthalmology in particular in his modest and humble way. He resides at Mandi Town in Himachal Pradesh.
