ABOUT THE AUTHOR Anjali Gandhi

Anjali Gandhi is Professor of Social Work at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. She is a leading social Work educator who has contributed significantly in the sphere of women, education and health. She has authored several; books and has written intensively on gender aspects if health and disease focusing on leprosy. Coronary heart disease and AIDs. Besides contribution articles in books, journals and newspapers, she has made numerous presentations at the Human Rights Commission since 1998. Often invited by various governmental and non-governmental agencies to lead gender-related project, her valuable suggestions in conferences, panel discussions and committees have led to important policy formulations. She is currently Honorary Directo5r, Sarojini Naidu center for Women’s Studies at Jamia Millia Islamia.
