Value Inculcation: A Path to Happiness, proposes that, both the root of suffering as well as happiness lie within us. Further, traditional values such as altruism, critical self analysis, forgiveness and detachment are key determinants of a happy state of mind. This promise has been empirically demonstrated by using value related group interventions on three different age groups namely, children, adolescents and young adults. Detailed account of various cases promises very engaging and interesting reading. The novelty of the book lies in its’ valuable contribution to the new and growing area of Positive psychology, Its’ indigenous flavour, action research methodology and rich qualitative analysis. Its’ practical orientation makes it a useful resource for both academic as well as practicing psychologists, educators including school teachers, counsellors, parents, principals as well as policy makers.
