Solid state electronic devices and digital electronics is the basis of modern electronics. Thus the aim of present book is to introduce the reader with essential features of solid state electronic devices and digital electronics. In order to understand and appreciate the subject matter of the book it is essential to have basic knowledge of relevant theories and concepts. For this first two chapters of the book have been devoted. The subject matter is presented in such a way that it is easily accessible to students. The publication is the outcome of the four decades of teaching experience and interaction with the teachers and students, therefore it is hoped that it will be of immense value of the readers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR H.B. Lal
Prof. H.B. Lal is formerly Professor and Head, Department of Physics, DDU Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 1960, Master of Science degree in 1960 and Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1967 from Allahabad University, Allahabad. He also did two years Diploma Course in German language and got a certificate of proficiency in German language in 1965 from the same University. Prof. Lal is former International Seminar Fellow, Uppsala University, Sweden and Visiting Scientist and Leader of the Magnetism Group, International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. He also worked at Ruhr Universital, Bochum, Germany. He has published 130 research papers, ten books on Physics and have produced 14 Ph.D. studnets. Prof. Lal is widely travelled and have attended 10 international seminars and 32 conferences. Being a member and fellow of some well-known academic bodies and organizations, he has given several radio talks and have written stories, poems etc. for children and articles on current topics.
