At the conceptual level, the term tribal environment presupposes that it is somehow different from non-tribal world. The long process of interaction between man and environment has resulted in changing tribal landscape during various stages of development. The development approach should be based on the principle of making the tribal mass aware and eager for their own development. The economic and social development demands introduction of better agricultural practices, better irrigation facilities for health and education etc. In the present study an attempt has been made to analyse the impact of modern schemes and various projects in creating the perception of tribal modernization. The book is confined to the Meena landscape of Rajasthan, the area is known for Meena jen-jati a tribe in the kingdom. This oriented book would be useful to planners, experts and research scholars who are visualizing developmental prospectus and strategy formulations for tribal areas in the country.
