This book is about the concept of security of Russia from Lenin to Putin. It makes an attempt to analyse and assess the security doctrines propounded and practiced by the leaders of Soviet Union and present Russia. The concept of security in its military, political, economic and human dimensions has been presented along a specific context. This book not only explores the reasons for the disintegration of the soviet Union, but also analyses its impact on the security of new Russia. Various problems and issues have been critically analysed, and the steps taken by Yeltsin and Particularly Putin to sort out the problems in Russian security have been discusses. An effort has also been made to evaluate their contributors in this direction, and to suggest remedial measures need to be taken to strengthen the security of Russia.
