ABOUT THE AUTHOR Chandra Bhanu Pandey
Dr. Chandra Bhanu Pandey born in 1930 in a typical village Nadavana, District Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh (India), was originally a Sanskrit Scholar. He took his Vyakarnacharya Degree from Sanskrit University Varanasi in 1954 and Master of Arts in Sanskrit from Nagpur University in 1958. Being graduated from Banaras Hindu University, he obtained both M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees in Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology from University of Saugar, where his doctoral thesis was on “The Risi Culture of the Mahabharata age†(Mahabharatiya Risi Sanskriti). Dr. Pandey’s entire life has been devoted to the study and exposition of various aspects of Sanskrit literature and ancient Indian Culture on which he has written several research articles concerning Epigraphy, Art, Architecture and Social Institution. After a brilliant academic career he commenced his official career as Principal of L.P. Sanskrit Degree College, Dhana, near Saugar. Later, in 1969 he joined the Department of Ancient Indian History, culture and Archaeology of the University of Jabalpur, where he continued till today.
