Order in Paradox: Myth, Ritual and Exchange among Nepal’s Tamang

This edition has appeared almost twenty years after the author’s long term residence among western Tamang. It elucidates particular anthropological problems ranging from the specific theoretical problem of the analysis of complex ritual systems through the relation of ritual practice and exegetic "myth" to the more general problem of the conceptualization of "Culture" as a coherent, unproblematic object of anthropological reflection.
