Padma Sri Dr. M. Kirti Singh, M.A., LL.B., Ph.D., D.LITT., F.A.S., Ex- Director of education (U). The foremost Indologist, writer, philosopher and social activist not only of Manipur but of India in general. Author of 30 books (English and Manipuri). Also author of research papers published in well-known Journals and state departmental books. He had many firsts 1st Ph.D. in the Culture of Manipur and D.LITT, 1st fellow of the Asiatic Society and 1st sectional President of a nations’ Forum, IPC from Manipur. He has toured Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Japan (1973-2005) and has attended many National and International Conferences, seminars and Meetings, associated with Indian science Conferences, Indian Philosophical Congress, All India Oriental Conference, All India Archivists’ Association and Manipur University in various capacities.
