ABOUT THE AUTHOR Arti Garg

Dr. Arti Garg the Author of this book, has been in the faculty of the Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata, Ministry of Environment and Forests, since February 2004. Born at Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, in 1965, Dr. (Mrs.) Artu Garg acquired her M.Sc, degree from the Lucknow University, Lucknow. She completed her Ph.D. from the National Botanical research Institute, Lucknow in the year 1992. After working there till 2003 in various capacity, she joined the Central National 2004. Her research interests are focused on Palynology, Taxonomy and Biodiversity and reproductive Biology and Conservation of Endangered species. So far., she has published one revision on the genus Berberis L. of family Berberidaceae while revision of the genus Pedicularis (Scrophuriaceae) is the process of publication to her achievement; she has also established the causes of rarity of a highly endangered taxa Eremostachys superba Royle ex Benth.
