This book is about the regional problems in Central Asian region ever since the disintegration of the Soviet Union.  This study analyses the development of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the Context of Central Asia.  This has tried to examine the critical factors like ethnic, nationality, minority problems, drug trafficking and Muslim fundamentalism in the quest of all round development for this region.  Moreover, areas where possible cooperation can be explored have also been covered in this writing.  Since there are few studies available on this topic, therefore this will endeavour to fulfil the gap and contribute to understand the emerging issues of Central Asia.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Nirbhaya Nath Mishra

Nirbhay N. Mishra is MA, M. Phil and Ph.D. from School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.  He has studied political developments in Central Asia and contributed to evaluating politico-strategic developments in historical framework.  At present he is associated with CARE, an international development agency and posted at Ranchi, Jharkhand.
