The thesis "Resistance to the British the Role of Mohuri Zamindari in South Orissa (1767-1850)" focused on the resistance movement of the people of South Orissa against the British and highlighted the socio-economic condition and the cultural heritage of South Orissan people. It is a milestone in the annals of Orissan history. The contribution of the author, Dr. B.N. Das to mediaeval history of India and regional history of Orissa is matchless and unparallel. The materials have been collected from Tamilnadu State Archives, Cannemera Library of Madras and National Library of Calcutta, from personal collections and journals. This thesis is a beacon light and an eye-opener for the students, the researchers and the general readers.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Bichitrananda Das
Born in 1950, Dr. B.N. das is an academician of eminence. He obtained B.A. (Hons.) degree in 1970 and M.A. degree in History in 1972 from Berhampur University securing First Class (Second Topper). Awarded Ph.D. degree in 1980 by the Berhampur University for his thesis" Resistance to the British and the Role of Mohari Zamindary in South Orissa (1767-1850) which added glory to his prosperous career. He became a Lecturer in History in 1973 in K.S.U.B. College, Bhanjanagar and was promoted to the rank of a Reader in 1985. He rose to the topmost ladder of his academic career in 2005 by becoming the principal of K.S.U.B. College, Bhanjanagar. It is a rare privilege on his part to become the Principal of a college where he was a student, a Lecturer and a reader. He is an established Author, a veteran scholar, a great academician and a fluent speaker. To his credit, he has produced two Ph. Ds and published many articles. Now many scholars are working under his guidance. At present he is working as the Principal of .K.S.U.B. College, Bhanjanagar (orissa.)
