Indian cities are very fast decaying, some cities like Varanasi and Madurai are the one of the oldest cities of the world, some are founded by various kings, Sultans, Badshahs and even Englishmen, French, and Portugues. More of less all these cities are lacking in various civic amenities, and posing serious health problems to all the residents. On the top of it the poorly financed municipal bodies and pathetic Urban Administration leaves a very dim hope for the improvement in the living conditions for the city dwellers. Problems like sewage disposal, drinking water supply, pollution, slum, garbage, transport, overpopulation etc. are faced by every city in India. It is hoped that this book will be great help to municipal administrators, urban planners, city councillors and students of public administration as well.
