ABOUT THE AUTHOR Prem Singh Jina

Dr. Prem Singh Jina a, Ph.D. in Economics, from Kumaum University, Nainital, he has also done short-term courses in Animal Husbandry, Agronomy, Horticulture and Mushroom Production from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Dr. Jina started his professional career at the Central Buddhist Studies, Leh, Ladakh in 1981, as a Lecturer in Economics. HE has written several book on Ladakh Himalaya and has presented 13 papers at International and 20 papers at National Conferences. More than 40 radio talks by him on different aspects of Ladakh have also been broadcast. He was made the Indian Council of Historical Research Fellow in 1996-97. The American Biographical Institute, USA, selected him for the International Directory of Distinguished Leadership, and nominated him for the award of â€˜Man of the Year-1998â€™. Presently, he is Professor at Central Institute of Buddhist Studies Leh, Ladakh.
