Information Services

This book is devoted to the information technology and information services. With the development of science and technology and invention of new technical devices like computer, distances of two countries have been reduced in seconds and minutes. A number of national and multinational agencies are running in different countries and providing quick information services. This book ranges from the whole spectrum of the new information technologies and their relevance to the whole of information services, inducing such things as library services, records management and archieves etc. Furthermore this book is too much concentrated on the individual who operate these services: the ‘information progressional’ for want a better term. The term ‘information services’ has been tried to defined as that it refers to all of those activities which are traditionally grouped into defined function within an organization and assign titles such as ‘library’, ‘information department’ archieve etc. Further education and training, the effect of information technology on the organization and transmission systems and multimedia are discussed with examples in the subsequent chapter of this book.
