This study enables to understand the progress made in this sector in terms of area and production and to know the socio economic conditions of flower growing farmers as it plays a major role in the socio economic transformation of rural folk, and also the profitability of commercial flower crops which is very essential as it determines the income of flower growers. Further, the present study has tries to analyse the market propensity of commercial flower crops and to study the production and marketing problems encountered by the flower producers. The present study is a comparative study of different flower crops, which covers three flower crops, namely, Jasmine, Tuberose and Marigold. This study is based on both secondary as well as primary data. The secondary data analyses the performance of this sector at macro as well as micro i.e. at all India level, Karnataka and in Mysore District. This study is both descriptive and analytical which is helpful to formulate policies for the development of floriculture at state and national levels.
