Knowledge management is not so much the management of tangible assets such as data or information, but the active management and support of expertise. In the new cyber millennium, it will be the "Killer app." As activities such as electronic, commerce take off, we can expect to see an increased demand for solutions that can cope with collection, management, analysis and interpretation of various information sources to make intelligent, timely and effective transaction related decision. Performance of these and a number of other information-intensive tasks will require the use of achieved information and knowledge management techniques such as those provided by digital libraries. In this book, an attempt has been made to cover the many facts of digital libraries and its management and hoped that the same will be of great interest to the library and information science students, faculty members as well as professionals.
