Citrus is a highly technical crop and its successful and profitable cultivation totally dependant on the scientific cultivation technologies. Survey of the literature available indicated for an urgent need of a comprehensive compilation of citrus technologies in a book form for the benefit of, not only citrus growers, but also for the research worker, students and planners. The present book incorporates the latest finding on citrus with especial reference to Indian citriculture of practical importance covering the technologies at nursery level, citrus production, protection, post-harvest technologies and marketing in 35 chapters. Experts of citrus in their respective field have contributed the chapters to this volume. A general scenario of citrus industry of India, its problems and prospects has been discussed in first chapter as an introduction to Indian citriculture. Northeastern part of India is supposed to be the natural home of citrus, in chapter 2 and 3, citrus germplasm wealth of India and its morphology and taxonomy is discussed.
