This book explores the origin, history and gradual development of the making of an Indian Orchestra i.e. Vadya-Vrinda. It attempts to trace the path traversed by the Vadya-Vrindain context to the different sociological, religious and cultural influences in different periods of music history. It deals with some important aspects of musicology such as melody, harmony, rhythm, musical instruments etc. in a systematic manner, which play a pivotal role in the making of a Vadya-Vrinda.
