ABOUT THE AUTHOR Krishna Maitra
Dr. (Mrs.) Krishna Maitra is a teacher educator and is actively involved in teaching and research in the area of special education. She is Professor in the Department of Education, Delhi University, Delhi, and a member of World Council of Gifted and Talented Children as well as of Asia-Pacific Federation of WCGTC. She has been nominated to the International Editorial Board of three international journals of world repute. She has published more than forty research papers and articles in national, international journals, newspapers and newsletters. She has authored various books on gifted children and related issues.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Vandana Saxena
Dr. Vandana Saxena is a Reader in Department of Education, University of Delhi, India. After doing her Masters in Physics, she came to Education as a student of Bachelor of Education. In subsequent years she did her Masters in Education and Doctorate in Science Education. Since then she is on her journey, exploring various facets of education especially the multiple dimensions of schooling. She taught in a school for four years before joining the University as a permanent faculty. Since her early years she had a keen interest in understanding diversity amongst school children. Through her Doctorate work also she attempted to present a framework for addressing diversity amongst school students in a Science classroom. While negotiating the challenges to promote such enriching classroom experiences for each learner in regular school situations she came across the issues related with inclusion. Her recent research interest includes understanding issues and perspectives in inclusion and exploring challenges to promote inclusion amongst the various stakeholders.
