Public Administrative system in India continuously spread and expanded its scope carrying its steel frame for about 40 years after independence. Steel is symbolic of hardness of character, strength, firmness and malleability. The steel frame is now tempered and transformed in to plastic. The system for the last 20 years is getting molded to the needs of global environmental changes and undergoing certain plastic surgery. The volume contains the research papers of the author contributed to various seminars, conferences and journals. The papers are varied on different aspects of the discipline and profession of public administration in India. The author attempted to perceive the changing nature of the state and its administration in its theory and practice. The book analyzed certain emerging issues of LPG democracy, good governance, democratic decentralization, and forecasts the twenty first century’s public administration.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR V. Bhaskara Rao
Dr. V. Bhaskara Rao (b. 1939) was formerly rofessor of Public Administratin at Kakatiya University, Warangal, A.P. He served the university in every capacity as academician and administrator. He guided six M. Phils. and 11 Ph.Ds. Author and editor of 35 books in English and Telugu and published about 80 research papers. He participated in about 100 national and international seminars and conferences. He organized many national seminars and directed research projects of ICSSR and UGC. He is the recipient of many awards including State teachers Award of Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1992. He is closely associated with the Indian Public Administratin Association and the founder Secretary-cum-Treasurer of New Public Administration Society of India since its inception in 1994. he was also associated in many ways with the Indian Institute of Public Administration at national and local level. He is the biographer of Charlie Chaplin and translated some works of Noam chomsky, Malcom Godwin and others. At present he is the director, MBA programme and Principal Chaitanya Post Graduate College, Warangal and Hon. Director, centre for Peoples Empowerment and Good Governance, Warangal. He visited U.S.A., and Bermuda.
