Sanujit Ghose, born in 1940 in Kolkata, graduated from the Calcutta University of Delhi.  An Indian Administrative Service officer of 1964 batch, he had a distinguished career in the government.  His observant journey led to various archaeological sites, religious institutions and mythological habitations in India and abroad.  His enquiring mind took in what he saw, soaked up what interested him most.  He has drawn upon a vast wealth of bhakti literature from almost all over the country.  His gleaning of facts and figures for more than a decade is wrapped up in this study and research on Radha folk heroine or divine playmate.
