Why do things seem to be going from bad to worse in our society? What can we do about it? In this book, Father Symons attempts to answer these questions. He provides the reader with ways and means by which the Church can become a greater force for good in our modern society. His main thrust is that we, as Church must always be willing to change. The road forward, he maintains, is through the group comprising bishops, priests, religious and laity working together as one. Within this group every one has equal importance as they offer their ideas, advice, skills and experience. In order to confront evil successfully we must be highly organized and this on a national level; the Church thrives or declines as society thrives or declines. The laity is an integral part of the Church. Involving them in the affairs of the Church is the only way to give them a greater sense of responsibility and an unfailing loyalty.
