ABOUT THE AUTHOR Boris Vian

BORIS VIAN (1920-59) was an engineer, inventor, jazz trumpeter, actor, recording artist, and prolific writer. Julia Older is the author of The Island Queen and the editor of Celia Thaxter: Selected Writings. Her five poetry titles include Hermaphroditus in America. Her translations, stories, essays, and poems have appeared in The New Yorker, Poets and Writers, and many other publications.
