ABOUT THE AUTHOR Robert Fleming

Robert L. Fleming, Sr. lived in the Himalayas for 50 years and is a leading authority on the birds of these mountains. He holds a Ph.D. in education from the University of Chicago and was connected with Woodstock School, Mussoorie, India, for 25 years. A co-founder of the United Mission of Nepal, he led his first bird expedition in this country in 1949. he is now "retired" and lives in the U.S.A.
