ABOUT THE AUTHOR S. Dutta

Born in Madarkhat area of Dibrugarh, Prof, Dutta is one of the pioneers of higher education in Arunachal. A teacher and researcher of standing, he has five books and more than fifty research papers to his credit. He is member of several professional and academic bodies in the country like the five-member standing committee of the Central Advisory Board of Archaeology, Archaeological survey of India, New Delhi; Advisory Board of Indian Council of Historical Research, Regional Centre, Guwahati; advisory board of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Chair of Dibrugarh University; Institute of Archaeology and Training, Eastern India, West Bengal. A former Dean of Social Sciences, Arunachal University, Prof. Dutta is currently Professor and Head of the Department of History, Arunachal University, Itanagar.
