Socialism and social justice are normative, value oriented concepts. Socialism connotes the values of freedom, equality and social justice. The prime attributes of socialism are justice and right. It was the consistent effort of each government and political system to cater to social welfare and to ensure social equality and justice in society. The nationalist thinkers in India were influenced and impressed by Socialism and the Russian Revolution. The nationalist thinkers of India wanted to take the good postulates of Socialism and yet they wanted to retain the Indian identities and values and ethos. In this book the author intended to discuss, analyse and depict the ideas, visions and thought patterns of Indian thinkers namely, Jawaharlal Nehru, Rammanohar Lohia and Asoke Mehta on Marxism, Socialism, social justice, freedom, democracy, planning and so on.
