Law and Agrarian Reform

India’s economy is predominantly agrarian. Growing population in the scenario of scarce land resource needs many thing for the survival mainly dependent upon agriculture. Skewed distribution because of high concentration of land some inequalities are inevitable which results in various socio-economic problems. In the post independance era policy planners sat upon restructuring India’s socio economic structure primarily by law making. This book attempted to sketch the agrarian scenario in historical settings, post-independance efforts law plethora, constitutional mandates coupled with judicial reactions. It evaluates the impact of legal measures on Indian economy and an inter-relation between the two. Undoubtedly the book is not only a treatise for the legal fratermily but even historians, sociologists and economists equally.
