South Asia considered as the richest linguistic region of the world. It presents with a bewildering variety of regional dialects, social dialects, formal and informal registers, literary standards, languages, writing systems, and language families. In this book a broad range of topics in South Asian languages has been analyzed and discussed. More than three hundred languages are spoken in South Asia than in any other region of the world. Many of these languages are however only dialects of a parent language.
