Buddhism in India faced schism after the demise of Buddha. It has been distributed into no less than eighteen sects. A Controversy remains whether all sects had separate Book(s) of Discipline, Vinaya(s). According to the Chinese sources Lutsung developed and several Buddhist texts of Indian origin are preerved in Chinese translation. Many of them hold no original versions in Indian Language.
