Born in the year 1962 Bharati Nayak grew up in Cuttack and graduated from the Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, Odisha. She has done her Masters degree in Political Science from Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. She is a bilingual writer, poet, critique and translator. She writes in English and Odia.
