The present work attempts to study on a historical basis all the Sanskrit Mahakavyas produced in South India. As many as forty-one Mahakavyas are listed out, of which a few are known only through references and citations. A scholarly study bringing into focus the historical basis of all the Sanskrit Mahakavyas (epics) produced in South India.
