The book, primarily, deals with the authors academic journey starting with his early education in India followed by study and research in the Netherlands and at Chatham House in London and teaching in Aligarh Muslim University Indian School of International Studies and Jawaharlal Nehru University. In between, he spent an academic year at the Middle East institute of Columbia University in New York.
