This book is an attempt to study contemporary British and Indian English fiction from the standpoint of feminism. The writers that have been focused are: Iris Murdoch, Doris Lessing, Margaret Drabble, Kamala Markandaya, Nayantara Sahgal, Anita Desai and Shashi Deshpande.
