The Partition in 1947 of an indivisible India is difficult to forget and dangerous to remember. It left rivers of blood flowing and heaped untold miseries on the innocent people of India, the description of which is beyond the scope of human language. To be great is to be misunderstood but in the case of Gandhiji, this misunderstanding went to ridiculous lengths. Somehow in some mysterious way, Gandhiji always was and still remains our only unchanging point of reference. He refuses to die for he was the quintessential India and his approach represented the truth every Indian has known for centuries. We have to follow his path. There is no alternative.
