The section on cardiology in general medicine textbooks are very concise and often limited. For a medical student, who wishes to understand the basics of heart diseases; and for the practitioner, who would like to brush up on the subject, both of the above options are deterring. Hence, this book aims to fill this vacuum. It is not as long as a treatise on cardiology, but at the same time, it covers all the important aspects adequately.
