Geological Survey of India, the custodian of all meteorites, maintains a Meteorite Gallery in the Indian Museum, Calcutta for the public display. The survey has a collection of 686 meteorites housed in the Central Petrological Laboratories, Calcutta. A complete inventory of the enriched collection has been published from GSI by Coulson (1940) and subsequently updated by Sen Gupta and Sen Gupta (1982).
