The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, popularly known as SAARC was established on 8th December, 1985. It comprises of the States of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan was added to this regional group on 13th November, 2005.
