The seventies and eighties have seen tremendous social and economic changes, especially in the context of urban India. The contemporary Indian woman writer has been subjected to and influenced by these changes. This book addresses itself to certain socio-literary aspects and presents a case for what can be termed a woman-centred, class-oriented Indian-English fiction by women.
